Lizi’s Adventurers – granola for intrepid children.
Lizi’s is a well-established brand in the granola market, known for its range of premium, healthy granolas. We had initially worked with Lizi’s on a number of NPD ideas, exploring opportunities to grow and extend their product portfolio. From this work emerged the potential to develop a children’s product that led us to the Adventurers brand.
We initially shaped and ran a qualitative research study to explore the potential for a childrens’ granola. Within this we also explored a range of possible positioning territories. We concluded that the new brand and product concept should be positioned as a ’healthy breakfast cereal, endorsed by parents and enjoyed by their kids’.
Lizi’s development team were able to develop a healthy low sugar ‘granola clustered crispie’. It was specifically designed to keep kids on the go for longer to provide them with a great start to their day.
The new product required a packaging design that could stand its ground in a busy category and appeal to children. But it also needed to retain the architecture of the existing Lizi‘s packaging design and brand cues to reassure parents.
Inspired by the amazing creativity of kids’ imaginations we created the Lizi’s Adventurers brand. The logo and packaging design features icons and illustrations designed to spark kids’ imagination and inspire them to invent their own amazing stories, characters, and magical journeys
Because every day is an adventure!
Adventurers allowed Lizi’s to expand its presence in the category. It also encouraged younger consumers to enjoy the benefits of granola. It is a branding approach that demonstrates how a premium, adult-focused brand can be carefully evolved to convey its qualities to a different audience.
